A Personalized Approach
For Adults
Whether you’re discovering the piano for the first time, returning after years away, or looking to take your playing further, lessons are shaped around your musical interests and goals. We’ll explore music that inspires you, develop your skills at a pace that feels both comfortable and rewarding, and create an experience that makes music a meaningful part of your life.
For Teens & Children
With over 25 years of teaching experience, I provide personalized instruction that meets each student at their individual level while nurturing confidence, independence, and a genuine love of music. Lessons combine strong musical foundations with repertoire students enjoy, creating an experience that is both engaging and rewarding.

One of the joys of teaching is getting to know a family over time. Over the past decade, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching this student, her mother, and her two older brothers.
A Shared Commitment
The most rewarding musical progress comes from a shared commitment between teacher and student. I provide thoughtful, personalized instruction in an encouraging environment, and I ask students to attend consistently, engage fully, and make music a regular part of life between lessons. For younger students, parent support plays an important role in creating an environment that encourages consistent practice and progress.
What to Expect
My approach is encouraging and flexible, while providing the consistency and guidance students need to make meaningful musical progress.
Personalized Curriculum
Every student receives a personalized curriculum shaped around their experience, learning style, musical interests, and individual goals. Lessons center on repertoire, musicality, sight-reading, and performance, with technique and theory woven naturally into the music as they arise. From classical repertoire to contemporary favorites, students explore music that genuinely inspires them while developing greater fluency, confidence, and musical independence.
In-Home Lessons
Enjoy personalized piano instruction in the comfort and convenience of your own home. I teach throughout San Jose and neighboring Silicon Valley communities. With no added travel for you to manage, in-home lessons make it easier to fit music into a busy life.
Online Lessons
Online lessons are also available for regular instruction or as needed to accommodate occasional travel, illness, or other circumstances, helping maintain continuity throughout the year.
Instrument
Students need a piano at home for both lessons and regular practice, either an acoustic piano or a digital piano with weighted keys. If you’re considering an instrument, I’m happy to offer guidance and referrals to trusted local shops.
The Piano Year
The Piano Year runs from September 1 through August 31 and includes 40 private lessons, with a weekly lesson time of 30, 45, or 60 minutes reserved for each student. Holidays, scheduled breaks, and Teacher Flex Weeks are built into the annual calendar.
Complimentary Lessons
Included within the 40 lessons offered are two complimentary lessons, which may be used to accommodate occasional student absences or enjoyed as bonus lessons throughout the year. Additional makeup lessons or scheduling adjustments may be accommodated when availability allows.
Annual Piano Celebration
Students of all ages and levels are invited to gather with family and friends for a beautiful afternoon honoring their progress and individual musical journeys.
Performing is warmly celebrated, but always entirely optional.
A red-carpet welcome, professional photography, and a relaxed reception make the occasion especially memorable.

After I review your Interest Form, I’ll be in touch to arrange a phone chat so we can get acquainted, discuss lessons, and answer any questions you may have.
3. Trial Lesson
If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule a trial lesson in your home—an opportunity to experience a lesson together and see whether we’re a good fit.
